Privacy Policy

This policy explains how The Rest Ritual Ltd, trading as The Sleep Guru, collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit thesleepguru.co.uk, get in touch, buy from us or work with us. We are the controller of that information, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration reference ZC120046).

In short: we collect only what we need to do the work, we treat health information with particular care, we never sell your information, and this website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

1. Who we are

The Rest Ritual Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 16654574, with its registered office at 13 Taleworth Road, Ashtead, KT21 2PT. Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to anandi@thesleepguru.co.uk.

2. What we collect

When you get in touch or take the Inner Stability Quiz

Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and what you tell us in your message or quiz answers.

When you book or buy

What you have booked or bought, your billing details and, for shop orders, your delivery address. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.

When you work with us

For the Inner Stability Diagnostic, the Inner Stability Method and Private Immersions, we collect what you share in your intake materials and sessions: your sleep history, daily patterns, nervous-system and lifestyle indicators, notes from our sessions, your Inner Stability Index tracking, and the data from your wearable device that you choose to share, such as night waking and HRV trends. Much of this is health information, which the law treats as special category data.

When you come to Casa Anandi

Dietary requirements, allergies, relevant medical information, an emergency contact and your travel arrangements.

When you visit this website

Our hosting provider processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies (see section 8).

3. How we use it, and why we are allowed to

• To deliver what you have booked or bought: assessments, reports, sessions, retreats and orders. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
• To use your health information in your assessment, report, protocol and sessions. Legal basis: your explicit consent, which we ask for before we begin. You can withdraw it at any time, although we may then be unable to continue the work.
• To reply to your enquiries and look after our client relationships. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the business.
• To send you emails about our work, where you have signed up or are an existing client. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe. Legal basis: your consent or, for existing clients, our legitimate interest.
• To keep accounts and meet our legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
• To protect this website and our forms from spam and misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.

With your agreement, we may record or transcribe a session to produce accurate notes. We will always ask first, and you are free to say no.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the business, under contract and only for that purpose:

• our website host;
• our booking, client-management and email platform, which runs the Inner Stability Quiz, our enquiry forms, scheduling and our emails;
• our payment providers, including Stripe;
• our print partner, Lulu, which prints and delivers shop orders;
• the email, document, video-call and messaging services we use to work with you, such as Google Workspace and WhatsApp;
• our accountant and professional advisers;
• anyone involved in delivering your stay at Casa Anandi, who receives only what they need, such as dietary requirements.

We will also share information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone’s vital interests in an emergency.

5. International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or the UK’s approved international data transfer agreements.

6. How long we keep it

• Client records, including health information: six years after our work together ends, then securely deleted.
• Financial and order records: six years, in line with HMRC requirements.
• Enquiries that do not lead to working together: up to two years.
• Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
• ask for your information in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email anandi@thesleepguru.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

8. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies it needs in order to work, for example to keep items in your basket during checkout and to protect our forms from spam. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies, so we do not ask you to accept any.

Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set YouTube cookies until you press play; once you do, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.

If we introduce analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

9. Keeping your information secure

We use established providers, encrypted connections and restricted access. Client records are available only to Alison and to anyone working on our behalf under a duty of confidentiality.

10. Children

Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it took effect.
